Learn to knit intarsia
NOVEMBER 15, 5-7pm Pacific
DESCRIPTION
Are you intrigued by this trendy colorwork technique but don't know where to begin? Or maybe you've attempted intarsia in the past and found it too frustrating to finish your project?
This live online workshop begins with an introduction to this technique and then walks you through knitting an "intarsia sampler" designed specifically to introduce you to the most common yarn-switching scenarios you will encounter in most intarsia projects. The class portal includes high definition videos that demonstrate the techniques for working each of these scenarios, which you can view as references during and after the live workshop as needed.
The Zoom session will be recorded and uploaded to the class portal after class for you to rewatch at your convenience as many times as you want.
Accessibility: my live online classes on Zoom are captioned using the Zoom automatic live caption feature, and I upload the transcript with the video after class.
REQUIRED SKILLS
You should feel comfortable with basic stitches (knitting, purling) and have completed enough projects that you have developed some pretty solid muscle memory for knitting. You do not need to have experience with any kind of colorwork, although even experienced intarsia knitters may find nuggets of wisdom in this class!
MATERIALS & PREPARATION
You will need yarn, knitting needles, a darning needle, and scissors, and you will need to cast on your sampler before class. Detailed instructions are provided in the class portal, which you can preview here.
CLASS PORTAL
Once you register, you will have access to a class portal with all the resources for the class. This class portal will include the technique videos for the intarsia sampler and, after the live class, an uploaded transcript and recording of the live class, which will be yours to re-watch in perpetuity.
